DESCRIPTION:The second payment of 2026-2027 property taxes is due. MUST be 
 paid in person or postmarked by Monday\, March 15th.\n\nThere is no grace 
 period—all payments not made in person at the Town Office or postmarked 
 by that date incur a one-time 8% penalty and immediately begin accruing in
 terest charges at the rate of 1% for the first three months and 1½% per m
 onth thereafter. That is\, if the payment due on March 15th is not made un
 til March 16th you will owe an additional 9% interest and penalty. PLEASE 
 NOTE: There is now a secure drop box located at the southwest corner of th
 e Town Office building where tax payments may be left at any time. The USP
 S has changed the way it postmarks. The postmark is now the day of process
 ing and not the drop-off date. If you need a same day postmark\, you need 
 to go to the USPS counter and request it.\n\nIf you handle your bill payin
 g electronically you should be aware that the envelopes used generally do 
 not carry a postmark. They cannot be considered on time—regardless of th
 e date on the check—unless they arrive at the Town Office on or before t
 he due date. You’re welcome to call the Office at 802-537-2611 or 802-45
 6-4094 (extension 1) to make sure your payment arrived safely\, or include
  a SASE and we'll send you a receipt.\n\nExtended hours on Saturday\, Marc
 h 13th 2027 will be 8am-1pm. Monday March 15th will be 9am - 5pm. If you'd
  like to pay in person but aren't comfortable coming in to the Town Office
  I'd be happy to meet you at your car. There is a handicapped entrance at 
 the rear of the building.
