SELECTBOARD VACANCY
In accordance with 24 V.S.A. 961(a) the Selectboard of the Town of Benson hereby gives notice of a vacancy on the Selectboard created by the resignation of a Selectboard Member.
Anyone interested in filling this position should apply in writing to the Select Board at: Town of Benson 2760 Stage Rd Benson .VT 05743 or bensonselectboardasst@gmail.com before 3:00pm on Monday, March 31st The person appointed will serve until the Town Meeting to be held on March 3, 2026.
CITIZENS’ RIGHT TO PETITION FOR VOTE: Titles 17 VSA 2643 and 24 VSA 963 grant citizens the right to petition for a special town meeting to replace the Selectboard’s appointee. To exercise this right, citizens must present a petition calling for a special election for this office signed by five percent of the legal voters of the Town to the Town Clerk.
